Forget tents: Brits are snapping up TEEPEES for their staycations, with sales soaring by 115%
- Online auction site eBay saw 3,000 trendy teepees sold during July alone
- Sales in comfy airbeds have seen a 167 per cent rise in the past 30 days
- More than 13 million families are set to holiday in the UK over the next six months
Brits have been snapping up trendy teepees as they opt to stay at home for the summer holidays with sales of the tents soaring.
Over 3,000 teepees were sold on eBay alone in July when the country basked in a heatwave – an increase of 115 per cent month on month.
It is believed that families choosing camping holidays in the UK are shunning traditional tents in favour of a more spacious option.

And it’s not just teepees that glamping Brits are opting for, comfy airbeds have also seen a spike in sales by more than 167 per cent in the past 30 days on eBay.
And with 13 million families set to holiday in the UK over the next six months, eBay believe 2018 is the year of the staycation.
Murray Lambell, vice president of UK trading at eBay, said: ‘Our research shows that 2018 is the year of the Great British staycation.
‘It seems that parents are looking to recreate the memories of their childhood with their own kids, staycationing with the latest tech, outdoor kit and holiday accessories.’

Meanwhile the online auction site has put together a list of essential items families should take with them when camping.
Included on the list are practical items such as sleeping bags, cool boxes and solar lights.
While more unusual items include smartphones, tablets and even inflatable furniture.
