Currently sat bottom of the Premier League, West Ham need a result when they play Everton on Sunday.
The Hammers have only managed two league goals so far this season, both coming from Marko Arnautovic, while their defence has leaked a poor ten already.
Here’s the team Manuel Pellegrini could select as the Irons search for their first league win of the season.
1. Goalkeeper & Defenders
Lukasz Fabianski (GK) – One of West Ham’s better performers so far this season, Fabianski will play.
Ryan Fredericks (RB) – If the right back can rediscover his Championship form from last season, he could be a real asset for West Ham.
Fabian Balbuena (CB) – The Hammers have been somewhat mocked for their defensive ineptitude, so Balbuena needs a big performance.
Issa Diop (CB) – Needs a top draw game after two shockers against Arsenal and Wolves.
Arthur Masuaku (LB) – Will bomb forward and look to test Everton’s defence with crosses and his own dribbling ability.
Mark Noble (CM) – A West Ham stalwart, Noble should start on Sunday.
Carlos Sanchez (CM) – Has a lot of doubters to prove wrong, with many believing he was something of a panic buy from West Ham at the end of the summer window.
Andriy Yarmolenko (RM) – It’s yet to all come together for Yarmolenko at the London Stadium, but Sunday could be his chance to grab a goal.
Felipe Anderson (CAM) – Has looked bright at times but will want to improve on his record of no goals and one assist in four games in the league.
Michail Antonio (LM) – Don’t be surprised if Antonio pops up at the back stick to score a header against the Toffees.
Marko Arnautovic (ST) – West Ham’s talisman, Arnautovic will almost certainly start and needs to put in a good performance if his side are to leave Goodison Park with three points.
With two goals in the Premier League so far, Arnautovic is the Hammers’ leading and only goalscorer in the competition so far this term.
